Holzmodem is an independent IT brand from Germany with three focus areas: extensions for open-source software such as Paymenter, hosted game servers and self-hosted apps, and running open-source services for small businesses. We use every product ourselves first – we only sell what has proven itself in our own operation.

Paymenter is an open-source platform for hosting providers and digital stores. Our extensions add what the core lacks: a visual page builder (Tindra), single sign-on (AuthentikSSO), EN 16931 e-invoicing (Faktora) or a download area. Available here in the shop and on BuiltByBit.

We set up open-source tools for your team and take over day-to-day operation: updates, backups, hardening and user management. You work with the tools, we keep them running reliably – for a monthly fixed price agreed up front.

Exclusively in Germany: our servers and backups run in German data centres certified to ISO 27001 and further standards. For web analytics we use a self-hosted, cookieless solution – nothing is shared with ad networks.

Choose a product, pay with any method offered at checkout and find the invoice in your client area. Game servers and apps then set themselves up automatically and are usually ready within minutes. Extensions are available for download right away.

Our goal is a large, lively community that moves more than technology: people who share their knowledge, help each other grow and do good together. That is why we are building tutorials, videos and freely available guides. As Holzmodem grows, we want to support projects that help disadvantaged people, animals and our environment – right down to planting trees.
